Part I. Fill in the gaps to make correct Reported Speech sentences.

 

1.    “I travel a lot in my job”

He said that he ….a lot in his job.

2.     “Be quiet. The baby’s sleeping.”

She told me ….because the baby….

3.    “We lived in China for 5 years.”

She told me they in China for 5 years.

4.    “They’ve always been very kind to me”.

She said they very kind to her.

5.     “They had already eaten when I arrived”

He said they when he… 

6.    He said, “I like this song.”

He said that he song.

7.    “Where is your sister?” she asked me.

She asked me where 

8.    “I don’t speak Italian,” she said.

She said that ….Italian.

9.    “Say hello to Jim,” they said.

They asked me …. to Jim.

10. “The film began at seven o’clock,” he said.

He said that the film ….at seven o'clock.

11.“Don’t play on the grass, boys,” she said.

She told the boys ….on the grass.

12. “Where have you spent your money?” she asked him.

She asked money.

13. “I never make mistakes,” he said.

He said that mistakes.

14. “Does she know Robert?” he wanted to know.

He wanted to know Robert.

15. “Don’t try this at home,” the stuntman told the audience.

The stuntman advised the audience ….at home.

16.“Who gave you the laptop?”

Yesterday Jason wanted to know the laptop.

17. “Is Tim leaving on Friday?”

Yesterday Robert asked me if Tim on Friday.

18.  “Will it rain tomorrow?”

Yesterday Daniel asked me day.

19. “Are the boys reading the book?”

Yesterday Mandy asked me the book.

20. “Why didn’t Nick go to New York last summer?”

Yesterday Nancy wanted to know to New York.

 

Part II. Fill in the gaps with say or tell in the correct tense.

Part III. Fill in the gaps with the correct pronoun or possessive adjective.
